Economics of the Plantation: (100 Hectares)

It is easy to plant 100 hectares in tea estates without any major investment as per methodology developed by us particularly for tea plantations.

Seed yield from 2nd year= 15MT/hect.

Bare minimum selling price of seeds in 2007 assuming that large-scale plantation taken up in India may drop the seed price from current levels to Rs. 8/- a kg. = 8 X 5,000 = 40,000/- peer HECTARE per YEAR.

Rs. 40,000 X 100 ha= Rs. 40 Lakhs./100 Hectares.

Yield may go upto maximum of 10MT/HA/Tr from 5th year onwards under proper Agricultural Management. Therefore, 5th year onwards the earning only from seed sale would be @ 7/-kg = 70 Lakhs from 100 hectares. In any case it will not drop below Rs. 70 Lakhs.

10-15 Lakh tea bushes in 100 hectares can't match the revenue earning from 3 Lakh Jatropha plants!
